"Went here for Friday lunch with friends. Initially had trouble getting a seat as the place was pretty busy. This place is pretty basic, but highly flavoursome food. Self serve for water, cutlery, napkins. Food is ordered before finding a table. Orders came our fairly quickly. I ordered Soto Betawi (Indonesian Beef Curry) with beef ribs - $11. Friends ordered the Grilled Beef Ribs with coconut rice, accompanied with with chilli and coleslaw salad - $12. The Beef ribs and meat was very tender and melt-in-the-mouth and full of flavour. Overall, sizable, filling and tasty meals for the cost."

"I have been praising this place to my peers for two years, I have no idea why it's taken me so long to review it. This is probably my favourite lunch spot on the Southern Cross side of town, which is a little bit of a wasteland. Kedai Satay is the perfect hole in the wall: quick, cheap and reliably delicious. It's nothing flash - order at the front, get a number and some water and grab a table. Without fail I'll order satay skewers with coconut rice. The coconut rice has a bit of a surcharge but holy cow, it's more that worth it. All of the sauces are made in house and MSG free, which is awesome if you're prone to the MSG sweats/ headaches that satay can often induce. It can get pretty busy at peak hour lunch, but there's additional seating upstairs so you should always be able to find somewhere to scoff down your satay. If you're looking for a little bit of a sugar hit try the thai milk tea, it's pretty intense but really tasty. I honestly can't fault Kedai Satay on anything, as it's great value, has friendly staff and is always a quick meal. It's also open in the evening, so swing by and try it out some time!"
